One year later, David Fizdale will be back on Beale Street on Sunday. He will be armed with his first two-game winning streak as coach of the Knicks. Timing is everything in the land of the blues.
“I didn’t want to walk in there just being miserable,’’ Fizdale said after his Knicks staged an 18-6 closing run to steal a 114-109 win over the Pelicans on Friday at the Garden.
At the 19-game mark last season, Fizdale was fired in late November by the Grizzlies, early in his second season, with a 7-12 mark. Ownership was upset at his escalating feud with All-Star center Marc Gasol.
