Mindaugas Kuzminskas became the odd man out for the Knicks, who, as expected, waived the Lithuanian forward Sunday to make room for the return of Joakim Noah.
“The respect this franchise has for Mindaugas cannot be overstated,” Knicks general manager Scott Perry said in a statement about the 6-9, second-season forward. “His professionalism and work ethic were greatly appreciated by his teammates, coaches and the entire staff. This decision was extremely tough for us. We wish him nothing but the best moving on with his playing career.”
Kuzminskas was part of the rotation last season, when he averaged 6.
