Celtics center Enes Kanter posted a double-double in his first game against the Knicks since being waived last season, schmoozed with James Dolan after the final buzzer and then gave the Knicks owner a vote of confidence.
Kanter was quoted on a Bleacher Report podcast in the offseason, wondering whether free-agent stars didn’t head to New York this summer because of the owner’s reputation.
Kanter, who had a chatty relationship with Dolan when he was a Knick, tried to make up for his apparent slight. He claimed to be texting buddies and heaped strong support Sunday on the maligned bluesman, saying he’s not to blame for the systemic losing.
