Turkish leadership’s beef with Enes Kanter is clearly still going strong, with the former Knick center saying his free basketball camp on Long Island got canceled because of strong-arm moves by the Turkish Consulate.
Kanter, who is now playing for the Celtics, was slated to hold a free camp for kids this coming weekend at the Islamic Center of Long Island in Westbury. But he tweeted a statement that said the mosque cancelled the camp after getting threats from the Turkish Consulate.
The trouble between Kanter and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is nothing new, and Kanter has said he has received death threats because of it.
