Enes Kanter leaves door open for opt-out with decision nearing

With signs pointing toward Enes Kanter opting into his contract, the Knicks center stated in a text message to The Post his final decision won’t be rendered until Friday night. The Post has reported he will declare his intentions on social media.

Friday is his deadline and strong indications point to Kanter opting into the final $18.6 million left on his pact. “He’d be crazy not to,” one NBA agent said.

In a text, Kanter stated, “I have not made any decisions yet, I’m going to decide tomorrow night. All the other stuff is just rumors.”

After an ESPN report stated he was “heavily leaning” toward not becoming a free agent on July 1, but will wait to make sure nothing materializes, Kanter tweeted “Lies-Rumors-BS.
