Enes Kanter is pleading for a reason to take a paycut.
The center knows it’s a pipe dream, but it’s a pipe dream he’s exploring in attempting to lure LeBron James to the Knicks.
“I’m trying,” Kanter told The Athletic in a story published Sunday. “I don’t want to say it’s possible, whatever, but I’m trying. Let’s give him a shot. Why not? Might just get him. Never know.”
Kanter said he needs “some help” with his sell-job, but his pitch is one many stars have heard before: If you do it in New York, you’re a legend.
