Enes Kanter said he wouldn’t mind being a mentor to new Knicks rookie center Mitchell Robinson, who was drafted Thursday in the second round with the 36th pick.
Kanter, who will decide Friday on whether he will opt into the final, $18.6 million year of his Knicks contract, sounded like he’ll eventually be teammates with Robinson and their first-round selection, small forward Kevin Knox.
Kanter followed the draft closer than usual because his brother, Kerem Kanter of Xavier, was draft eligible. The younger Kanter, a 6-10 small forward, went undrafted but is expected to play in the Las Vegas summer league.
