The first round of the NBA Draft is underway at the Barclays Center! The New York Knicks came into this year’s festivities with the 24th, 25th, and 38th picks. Over the past few weeks, many speculated that Knicks team president Leon Rose might not even draft a player with their selections. Au contraire! Sort of.
The last player that New York picked and retained was Trevor Keels in 2022. He was waived by the club the following year. With yesterday’s trade for Mikal Bridges and today’s report of a $212 million, five-year deal for OG Anunoby, the Knickerbockers’ front office has clearly been busy this week.
