Former NBA commissioner David Stern was a guest on Bloomberg Business of Sports podcast and didn’t hold back in defending owner James Dolan by saying that he “gets a bad rap.”
“He has entrusted the Knicks with different people and given them full authority,” said Stern, via Bloomberg.com, who was the National Basketball Association’s commissioner until 2014. “And the Knicks haven’t gotten that much better.”
Stern is right, Dolan has been more hands off, which has helped the team for sure. But he still does petty stuff like Ban Charles Oakley from attending games and Stefan Bondy of the NY Daily News from press conferences for childish reasons.
