David Fizdale only focusing on chopping the tree

DETROIT — David Fizdale has heard the playoff talk from his players, but he’s really still just focusing on the ax he brings on the road as symbolism for their mission.

“You just try not to get seduced by our success,’’ Fizdale said at Tuesday’s morning shootaround before the Knicks three-game winning streak was snapped in a 115-108 loss to the Pistons. “I don’t want our team to focus as much on the end result as much as what we did to get it. I know it’s corny but my cliché is chop the tree. We’re not paying attention to when the tree falls.
