David Fizdale has watched Kevin Knox working every day to climb out of a prolonged rookie slump, but Saturday once again was not the breakout day for the Knicks’ first-round pick.
Knox missed nine of 12 shots and scored just seven points in a quiet 23 minutes in a 102-94 loss to the Kings at the Garden. The ninth overall pick in the 2018 draft was voted the league’s top rookie in December, but Knox is shooting 34.2 percent from the floor in 29 appearances since the start of January.
“I can’t give you any answer why on that one, I just know the kid is working,” Fizdale said.
