A South Jamaica street was renamed in honor of beloved Knicks player Anthony Mason at an upbeat ceremony Saturday morning.
“He was a man full of passion, a man full of conviction and he did so much for this community,” former Knicks teammate John Starks told a crowd of 100 people at the unveiling.
Mason’s 92-year-old mother, Mary Mason, and his four kids also attended the festive event organized by Councilman Ruben Wills.
“To see the crowd show up, it really shows it was well deserved, and [shows] the love that he had out here in the community still,” said his oldest son, Anthony Mason Jr.
