NEW YORK -- Knicks legend Charles Oakley on Friday rejected an opportunity to have charges stemming from a February incident at Madison Square Garden dismissed and requested a trial to fight those charges.
Judge Joanne Watters set a trial date for Aug. 4 during Oakley's appearance at Manhattan Criminal Court.
Oakley mostly declined comment while walking out of the courthouse, saying "it's part of life, it's part of life" when asked about going to trial.
