Charles Oakley banned from Madison Square Garden, James Dolan says

Knicks owner James Dolan said on Friday that Charles Oakley has been banned from Madison Square Garden in the aftermath of a physical altercation with security guards during Wednesday night’s game against the Clippers and suggested that Oakley is battling anger and alcohol problems.

Dolan, appearing on The Michael Kay Show on ESPN New York Radio, said that it is “not necessarily a lifetime ban.”

“We need to keep the Garden a place that’s comfortable and safe for everybody who goes there,” Dolan said. “Anybody who comes to the Garden, whether they have been drinking too much alcohol, they’re looking for a fight, they’re abusive, being disrespectful to the staff and fans, they’re going to be ejected and they’re going to be banned.
