Kristaps Porzingis’ 29 point, 11 rebound effort on Tuesday was undoubtedly his breakout performance of this young season. There’s no doubt the crowd was electrified throughout with roars of “M.V.P.” chants and that of the rookie’s name. His teammates were clearly energized as well, throwing their hands up, pumping their fists, and dancing and prancing from the sidelines. They supported him.
“It felt good to hear his name being chanted in our arena,” Carmelo Anthony said following the win. “I’m proud of him.”
“I’m pretty sure this will be the first of many that you all see,” he added (ESPN, November 18).
