Carmelo Anthony is assisting on and off the court this season.
The Knicks star received November's NBA Cares Community Assist Award for his work serving families and young children in New York, the league announced Tuesday.
Anthony's charitable efforts last month included the "brightening of the holidays" for 800 Bronx families, according to the NBA, providing them with food, personal-care items and much-needed living essentials. Anthony has worked with Feed the Children for more than seven years, aiding nearly 5,000 families throughout Denver, Baltimore and New York.
"Giving back to the community is where my heart is, so if I can help even a couple people then I'm doing my job," said Anthony, who will be presented Wednesday on the Garden court with the David Robinson Award by John Starks and Bob Lanier.
