When it comes to scoring, Carmelo Anthony is an all-time great. He’s exceeded 20,000 points, ranks No. 12 in career points per game average and owns the 2012-13 NBA scoring title.
Defensively, he hasn’t been quite as prolific.
Anthony has displayed flashes of defensive prowess—basketball fans should all remember the 2009 Western Conference Finals—but he’s often accused of failing to exert a consistent effort. His current defensive reputation is that of a ball-watcher who gives up on possessions far too easily.
In 2015-16, Anthony wants the coaching staff to hold him accountable for his mistakes.
