Carmelo Anthony finally breaks silence on Knicks’ offseason

LAS VEGAS — If Carmelo Anthony is displeased with Phil Jackson’s offseason haul, he hid it well at Tuesday’s United States Olympic Team minicamp in a 15-minute, clearing-the-air session.

The rehabbing Anthony, after participating in Team USA’s non-contact practice, broke his silence and claimed he’s “bothered’’ by the malcontent perception of him, and that he feels the Zen Master “did a great job.’’

Nevertheless, despite praising 7-foot-3 rookie Kristaps Porzingis, calling him “a tough guy,’’ and hailing the team’s free-agent signings, Anthony admitted “it’s too early’’ to project the Knicks as a playoff team. Indeed, Jackson failed to add an All-Star in free agency to a 17-65 squad despite $30 million in cap space.
