Leon Rose, the former CAA agent who will be named the Knicks new president in the coming days, needs to hire a GM who is a real basketball savant.
“Leon is known as a nice guy around the league but would need a lot of help,’’ one NBA personnel director said. “He isn’t a detail guy.’’
Acting Knicks president Scott Perry has the wherewithal and a long connection to William Wesley, expected to come aboard in the front office. Maybe Perry will be reassigned as director of college scouting if not kept in place.
