It was a fitting contrast Thursday, the NBA announcing that nine more players had tested positive for COVID-19 while reports were coming out that the league was closing in on plans for the eight teams left out of the Orlando title chase to gather for meaningless games.
It was another case of good intentions causing well-deserved head shaking.
There are certainly days now when it’s worth wondering just how worthwhile a venture it is for the NBA to restart the season that was suspended after the games of March 11 because of the coronavirus.
