Amar’e Stoudemire told Miami writers Tuesday he spoke to Carmelo Anthony to clear the air regarding comments he made in New York and considers him a friend.
“I’ve never mentioned his name once. We’re close friends, family,” Stoudemire said. “Our kids were born a couple months apart.”
Stoudemire had suggested Jeremy Lin’s tenure with the Knicks ended prematurely because Anthony was jealous of the star power generated by “Linsanity” and also questioned whether Lin was “a complete player.’’ Stoudemire denied he was calling out Anthony, and on Instagram said the New York media is up to “dirty tricks.
