NBA commissioner Adam Silver skipped the stretch limo to the Brooklyn Academy of Music for Thursday night’s screening of ESPN’s “Basketball: A Love Story.”
“Because of the UN General Assembly traffic, I took the B train from Midtown,” the commish told us.
Fellow New Yorkers who recognized him did not let Silver ride without comment, of course. “They blamed me for interfering with the 76ers, which I denied, and they told me, ‘Fix the Knicks!’ ”
Asked if he had his own basketball love story, Silver recalled spending quality time with his father, a Knicks season-ticket holder, after his parents separated.
