The dust has settled in New York City after the first-ever two-day NBA Draft. Something the NBA used as justification for separating a second round that usually doesn’t get much attention is that there have long been complaints about the system and how fast it moves. GMs wanted more time to reset their boards and move up and down the board. We certainly saw that with a mess of moves last night.
Leon Rose was certainly extremely active. This is nothing new. Rose has made at least two draft night deals in 4 of his five drafts as Knicks president, the lone one was when he sat out of 2023 altogether after the Knicks traded their pick for Josh Hart and lost out on the protected Dallas pick due to shameless tanking (thanks, Adam)
In 2020, he traded up for Leandro Bolmaro, before immediately flipping him for an early 2nd he would later trade away and Immanuel Quickley.
