The New York Knicks added depth to their frontcourt on Saturday night, agreeing to a sign-and-trade for Orlando Magic forward/center Kyle O'Quinn, according to Ian Begley of ESPN New York (via Twitter).
Orlando had the right to match any offer sheet after extending the Jamaican-born 25-year-old a qualifying offer prior to the 2015 NBA free agency period.
However, they opted for a sign-and-trade instead, recouping cash and the option of a 2019 second-round pick swap with the Knicks, per Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
O'Quinn averaged 5.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game for the Magic in 2014-15. He made just under $800,000 last year.
