The New York Knicks are starting crucial offseason for the future of the franchise. They appear on the brink of a rebuild as Carmelo Anthony appears to be on his way out of town, and the moves they make this summer will determine the future of the franchise for the next decade. Here are all the latest Knicks news & rumors you need to know:
Celtics not interested in Carmelo Anthony
A report earlier this week indicated that several members of the Celtics coaching staff wanted Boston to trade for Carmelo Anthony, and that they may pursue a deal this offseason. However, Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News says that is not the case.
Multiple sources refute report that ANY Celtics coaches pushed to trade for Carmelo.

Anthony has a no-trade clause, but has expressed interest in waiving it if he was traded to a contender (namely the Clippers or Cavaliers). He averaged 22.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game this past season.
Kristaps Porzingis re-affirms commitment to New York
Despite publicly voicing his frustrations with the team on several occasions late in the season and skipping his exit meeting, he is still committed to New York, according to ESPN.
Five days after skipping exit meetings with management over frustration with the franchise, Kristaps Porzingis told the New York Post that he loves New York, indicating he wants to remain with the Knicks.
"Of course, I love New York. I love New York," Porzingis said in an interview outside his Manhattan apartment complex.
Porzingis skipped exit meetings with team president Phil Jackson and general manager Steve Mills due to frustration over what he perceives as the dysfunction and drama surrounding the organization, team sources told ESPN.
Porzingis averaged 18.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in his season season in the league.
Knicks targeting De'Aaron Fox in draft?
The Knicks are currently projected to have the No. 7 pick in the NBA Draft before the draft lottery, and ESPN's Chad Ford thinks they will take Kentucky point guard De'Aaron Fox.
The Knicks will take a close look at Fox, Smith and Frank Ntilikina if they’re all available. With Derrick Rose likely to leave the Knicks via free agency this summer, landing a young point guard to play next to Kristaps Porzingis looks like a strong option for New York.
Fox isn’t a great perimeter shooter, but he has every other attribute you want in point guard. If he ever gets a solid jumper, he could be a star.
Fox averaged 16.7 points, 4.6 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game for the Wildcats this past season. I also have the Knicks drafting Fox in my latest mock draft, taking him over both Smith and Ntilikina.
