Our Knicks news update for August 7th:
The New York Knicks signed guards Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Sasha Vujacic on Friday, per multiple media reports.
The terms of both deals have not been announced as of this writing.
The 6-foot-7 Vujacic has averaged 5.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists over the course of eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, New Jersey and Los Angeles Clippers. He hasn't seen action in an NBA game since 2013-14 when he played in two contests for the Clippers. He served as a bench option for the Los Angeles Lakers for the team's two NBA championship runs in 2009 and 2010.
Antetokounmpo, 6-foot-7, averaged 13.9 points and 6.2 rebounds in 32.9 minutes per game over 47 contests with the Westchester Knicks of the NBA D-League last season. A second-round draft selection by the Knicks in the 2014 NBA Draft, Thanasis Antetokounmpo's brother, Giannis, has emerged as a rising start for the upstart Milwaukee Bucks.
