The New York Knicks have shown a heavy amount of interest in Oklahoma point guard Trae Young throughout the pre-draft process, and Marc Berman of the New York Post reports that Young is visiting with the team and working out for them on Tuesday

While the Knicks don't necessarily appear to be looking at backcourt options, Young appears to be the exception. New York is believed to be focused on picking a small forward with the No. 9 pick and is targeting Villanova's Mikal Bridges.
Scouts are torn on Young, who became the first player in college basketball history to lead the country in both points and assists in a single season but was largely inefficient over the last two months of the season. The Knicks, though, believe that his incredible quickness, vision, and ability to create shots for himself will allow him to become a superstar.
Those traits are the reason why New York thinks Young can be the perfect fit alongside Frank Ntilikina, last year's first-round pick, who is more of a defensive-minded player and is better suited to play off the ball.
However, it's unlikely that Young is still on the board when the Knicks pick. He is currently projected to go No. 6 overall to the Orlando Magic in our post-combine mock draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers are also known to have interest at No. 8.
Young averaged 27.4 points, 8.7 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game for the Sooners.
