In today's trending Knicks news, New York Knicks president Phil Jackson is already showing signs of being worn out by the high-intensity, high-gossip nature of the New York sports media.
Jackson took to his official Twitter page on Monday, posting a tongue-in-cheek update on how the team would conduct itself when it comes to media relations in the Big Apple:
Undaunted by "stuff" we will continue to have a relationship with the press, which informs our fan base#chagrined
— Phil Jackson (@PhilJackson11) June 4, 2014
Jackson could be referring to a ton of "stuff" about his short tenure with the team, including the media's coverage of the $25,000 tampering fine he received for talking about Derek Fisher as a potential coaching candidate while he was still playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Knicks president also received a ton of heat from both the New York newspapers and the national media for his handling of the Steve Kerr coaching fiasco - which ended with Kerr spurning the Knicks to coach the Golden State Warriors on a five-year, $25 million deal.
Whatever it is that Jackson is making reference to, he will most likely have to learn to deal with it if he wants to remain a prominent figure on the Big Apple sporting scene.
