Steve Kerr wants James Dolan and the New York Knicks to show him the money -- and an absolute ton of it at that.
Per TheKnicksBlog.com, Kerr has a very large, round number in mind when it comes to the compensation he wants to take over the sidelines at Madison Square Garden:
According to the CBS Sports, Steve Kerr and his agent and former Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum are seeking a 5-year $30 million deal from the Knicks. That contract would be the same length as Phil Jackson’s and nearly triple what Jason Kidd received as a first year head coach in Brooklyn. In the report referencing the New York Post, CBS Sports is reporting that this deal is being structured similarly to Mike D’Antoni’s $24 million contract that he signed with the Knicks in 2008.
Kerr is also reportedly being courted by the Golden State Warriors, perhaps forcing the Knicks' hand when it comes to either accepting or declining his salary demands.
