In this Knicks news update, one NBA GM is calling BS on rumors of a trade that would send Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant to the New York Knicks.
According to Adam Zagoria of NBA.com, the speculation may purely be a creation of the media:
NBA GM on who is talking Kobe to the #Knicks: 'Only the media.'

In truth, going after Kobe doesn't make a lot of sense for the Knicks in the long term:
An NBA assistant mentioned Kobe to the #Knicks to me over the summer and that chatter is now heating up. Seems counter to #Knicks long plan. — Adam Zagoria (@AdamZagoria) November 8, 2014
The Knicks would give up expiring contracts & draft picks for a 36-year-old w/ a recent injury history? Doesn't make sense for them.

So, it might be best to file all the speculation surrounding a Kobe/Phil reunion in the Big Apple as just that...speculation.
