While the world of Knicks news waits to see who will be left standing as the team's next head coach, it has now been confirmed that whoever is on the sidelines for the team in 2014-15 will be coaching a game in England next January 15th at the
Per Frank Isola of the New York Daily News, "it will mark the second time in three years that the Knicks have played in Great Britain. They defeated the Detroit Pistons two years ago at the O2. The building has added significance for Carmelo Anthony, who helped lead the United States to an Olympic gold medal there in 2012."
Yet, at this point, even Carmelo Anthony's presence on the trip is up in the air. Anthony plans to utilize the early-termination clause in his contract to opt-out come July 1st, giving him an array of options to choose from on the free agent market.
However, Anthony has stated on numerous occasions that his loyalties lie in New York - and experts give the Knicks the inside track to retain him due to the extra year and almost $30 million they can provide over any other team who offers him a deal.
