In today's Knicks rumors and news update, the New York Knicks received some great news on Wednesday regarding prized free agent Carmelo Anthony.
As we reported earlier today, ESPN's Marc Stein is indicating that the Chicago Bulls could be moving on to other top-tier free agents such as Lakers' big man Pau Gasol because they are worried they can't convince Melo to leave the Knicks.
While this is a very solid reassurance for Knicks fans excited for the possibility of five more years of Melo at the Garden, a report from ESPN's Chris Broussard regarding LeBron James could prove troublesome if Anthony and James are really looking to pair up somewhere:
"It's not a done deal," said one source, when asked about James' return to Miami. "That's for sure."
Bosh and Wade were so uncertain about James's future after last week's meeting that one of them spoke about what the Heat might look like without James, according to one source.
The three stars met for lunch last Wednesday to discuss their professional future. While Broussard's sources indicate that both Wade and Bosh were sold on returning to Miami, LeBron James left the meetup less than sure about his upcoming decision.
So, if LeBron is truly the first domino that needs to fall for other free agents such as Melo and Pau Gasol to follow suit, Knicks fans and NBA fans in general could be in for a bit of a nerve-wracking wait.
