In another Knicks rumors update for your NBA Draft day, New York Knicks president Phil Jackson opened up on Thursday about his reasoning for yesterday's major six-player trade which sent Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton to Dallas.
Per Chris Sheridan of Sheridan Hoops, team chemistry was on Jackson's mind when it came to acquiring point guard Jose Calderon, center Sam Dalembert, reserve point guard Shane Larkin, and reserve shooting guard Wayne Ellington:
Knicks president Phil Jackson says he had to change chemistry, get some "character guys."

In regards to Carmelo Anthony's knowledge of the trade (which also netted the Knicks the #34 and #51 picks in tonight's draft), Jackson said Anthony was aware but wasn't central to the decision making process:
Phil says Melo was informed of the trade and that it was on the table. "He was aware."

ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk also reports that Jackson has high regard for Shane Larkin's potential, regardless of if Larkin is being dangled as trade bait during tonight's draft.
