Knicks rumors are in full swing as the team continues its search to find a replacement for former head coach Mike Woodson. There as been one name on top of the list for the majority of the search -- but anything is possible in the NBA as we review the Top 3 Knicks Coaching Candidates As Of 5/12:
3. Mark Jackson
This may be the most interesting potential hire on the list. Jackson began his NBA playing career with a five-year stint in the Big Apple, and spent two more seasons near the end of his career under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden. After being unceremoniously dumped by Golden State Warriors management, the notorious fiery Jackson could very well carry a huge chip on his shoulder into New York -- something that could go either extremely well or...there's always the tabloids.
2. Kevin Ollie
With a 2014 NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship in his back pocket, and over a decade of service as an NBA player to his credit, Kevin Ollie's stock as an NBA head coaching prospect may never be higher. Imagine if you were in the position of Ollie -- faced with the allure of manning the sidelines under the legendary Phil Jackson in one of the most storied buildings in U.S professional sports history -- would you decline?
1. Steve Kerr
The latest rumblings out of the negotiations between Kerr and the Knicks is that Kerr wants five years and $30 million to coach the Knicks -- almost triple what another first-time head coach, Jason Kidd, is making with the Brooklyn Nets. Compromise may become the key buzzword in these negotiations. However, it's still Kerr's job until proven otherwise.
