Rajon Rondo is set to become a free agent this offseason, and while the New York Knicks were targeting him at the beginning of the season, his tumultuous year with the Dallas Mavericks has scared the Knicks off, according to the New York Post:
The Knicks, often cited as another potential destination, don’t make sense for Rondo. Point guards in the triangle spend plenty of time off the ball — as Knicks coach Derek Fisher knows — and if anything has become clear about Rondo, it’s that he simply isn’t capable of playing off-guard.
The Los Angeles Lakers have emerged as the probably landing spot for Rondo this offseason, while the Knicks have turned their attention to big men LaMarcus Aldridge and Marc Gasol.
