In today's look into Knicks rumors and news, the New York Knicks could be examining a scenario which would see them sign and then trade Carmelo Anthony to the Houston Rockets for James Harden.
Per Real GM Basketball, "in a radio appearance, Chris Broussard reported that the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks could agree upon a sign-and-trade of Carmelo Anthony for James Harden."
The Houston Rockets would then use cap space from rumored trades of both Jeremy Lin and Omar Asik to take a run at signing LeBron James - thus creating a new Big 3 in Texas consisting of Anthony, James, and Dwight Howard.
There has been some doubts surrounding the Rockets over the past few months about whether or not James Harden's playing style meshes well enough with Howard going forward for the team to emerge as legitimate contenders in the Western Conference year after year.
If those doubts are indeed shared by Houston general manager Daryl Morey, the New York Knicks could end up the benefactor - landing Harden rather than conceivably coming up with nothing if Anthony just walks altogether.
