In what comes as a huge relief for Knicks news fans, superstar Carmelo Anthony should be suited up and ready to go for the New York Knicks final five-game playoff push, despite a banged up right shoulder.
According to ESPN.com's Ohm Youngmisuk, Anthony "labored through a strained right shoulder and had just 10 points, eight rebounds, five assists and nine turnovers in a 90-89 loss to the Washington Wizards on Friday night at Madison Square Garden."
However, as Youngmisuk reports, X-rays on the shoulder came out negative, meaning that the Knicks' nine-time NBA All-Star should be ready to go for Sunday's crucial contest in Miami against the Heat.
"Today was just the lingering effect on it," stated Anthony after his struggle-filled Friday night against the Wizards. "I just felt it just gave [out]. Throughout the course of the game, there was no strength in it -- on the passes, causing turnovers, things like that. Hopefully, I'll be all right."
Carmelo Anthony injured his left shoulder near the end of last season, suffering both a labrum and a rotator cuff tear -- an injury which Anthony promptly played through in the playoffs.
Anthony was averaging a robust 28 points per game prior to his dismal 5-for-14 shooting night at the Garden on Friday.
