Knicks News: Phil Jackson compares Carmelo Anthony to Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant

Knicks news is slowly morphing into the Phil Jackson show, with the legendary coach and new New York Knicks team president making some legendary comparisons in regards to star player Carmelo Anthony.

Per Lauren Moranor of Sports World Report, by way of information obtained from ESPNNewYork.com, the new Knicks president had some very flattering words for his Carmelo Anthony, especially in regards to his leadership capabilities --

Carmelo's really stepped into another level of trying to help players," Jackson stated in a report from ESPNNewYork.com. "I think that's one of the things that we see that Carmelo can do and that he's grown as he's gone along. Those are issues that are not only on the basketball court. They're off the basketball court, they're in practices, they're in the training room, in the locker room, where players learn to lead and push the team forward with their energy."

"And I've been fortunate to have coached two of the great ones who have been able to do that in Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant."

Whether Phil Jackson believes that Carmelo Anthony already exists on the same level as those two iconic superstars or not is a matter of conjecture. However, it does seem that the eleven-time NBA champion (as a coach) at least believes that Melo has the capability to play and lead on said level.
