The New York Knicks could target Denver Nuggets head coach Brian Shaw as an assistant to head coach Derek Fisher if Shaw is fired by the Nuggets after the team's slow start to the 2014-15 NBA season, per Marc Berman of the New York Post.
According to Berman, "the Post reported if Shaw came with no strings attached, he would have offered the former Lakers assistant the job over Fisher last May. Fisher said Shaw hasn’t run the triangle in Denver but Shaw seemed to dispute that to a point."
Shaw is already instituting elements of the triangle offense in Denver, albeit to limited effect at this point.
“We have a lot of triangle principles in our offense,’’ Shaw said. “There are a lot of similarities. Difference is we don’t run a two guard front which is the true form of the triangle but obviously our roster was built to play a different way.’’
