Despite having the worst record in the NBA, the New York Knicks have still been able to fill Madison Square Garden. However, they can't get fans to tune in on TV.
According to the New York Post, the Knicks-Wizards matchup on Sunday mustered a rating of 0.18 — which represents 14,000 viewers for the game.
The MSG Network "would not confirm nor deny whether it was the lowest rating in recent team history", but the network’s ratings are down 39 percent.
A large part of that is the Knicks lack of star power on the court as Carmelo Anthony is out for the year, and Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler are now playing for the Dallas Mavericks.
The New York Post also says the MSG Network will air last week’s Steve Mills-Phil Jackson season-ticketholder presentation on Tuesday night in an attempt to raise ratings.
