New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony had successful surgery on his left knee Thursday for “left knee patella tendon debridement and repair."
Anthony decided not to waste any more time to have a procedure that President of Basketball Operations Phil Jackson said will require four to six months for recovery.
He drew heavy criticism for playing 30 minutes in the All-Star Game Sunday, delaying surgery to sitting out of some Knicks games to play in the event.
