The New York Knicks have instituted the triangle offense knowing full well that there would be struggles associated with the transition.
Superstar Carmelo Anthony went through his own share of hiccups with Phil Jackson's favorite offense to start the 2014-15 NBA season. However, things are starting to look up.
"I'm getting there," Anthony said on late Sunday afternoon, via Ian Begley of ESPN New York. "Every game I'm starting to become a little bit more comfortable with my role."
That increased comfort level was quite apparent in the Knicks' 109-93 win over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Anthony scored 28 points on just 14 shots, efficiently keying the team's offense in the victory.
Add in the fact that Anthony has made 20 of his past 27 shots for 58 points in the Knicks' past six quarters of play, and you can see why head coach Derek Fisher is optimistic about Anthony's growth in the triangle.
"Just finding a better balance for himself," Fisher said after Sunday's win. "When is it his turn to be the prolific scorer that he is? When is it time for him to take a step back and allow the offense to work so that his teammates can find some rhythm? I just think as each game goes by, he's getting more aware of when those times are."
