Knicks NBA Draft Rumors: Everything You Need To Know

The have been a lot of rumors surrounding the New York Knicks and the No. 4 overall pick in the NBA Draft, but with the hour almost at hand, it's time to separate fact from fiction. Here’s the latest on what to expect come draft night:

Knicks to trade down for Frank Kaminsky?

The Knicks have been very interested in Frank Kaminsky through the draft process, and they may make a move to try back in the draft to take him, according to the Sporting News:

The Knicks are holding their usual predraft meeting on Monday, and they, like many around the league, are asking the same question: How high will and NCAA player of the year Frank Kaminsky go? The Knicks had the Wisconsin big man in for dinner and a workout late last week and came away impressed. While there has been speculation that the Knicks would like to trade down in order to take Kaminsky, they haven’t found a willing partner for a deal.

Will they trade the pick to the Suns for the No. 13 pick and Eric Bledsoe?

If the Knicks do trade back, the most likely partner for them would likely be the Phoenix Suns, who are trying to move up and have put Eric Bledsoe on the block as bait, according to the Sporting News:

The Suns had talks with the Knicks about dealing the fourth pick for point guard Eric Bledsoe and the No. 13 pick, but Phoenix has not been limited to the Knicks in that regard. The Suns have been dangling Bledsoe in trade offers this offseason and are likely to continue to do so after the draft if Bledsoe is not moved this week, sources confirmed.

The move would put them in the range Kaminsky is expected to fall in the draft, but they may have to give up more than just the No. 4 pick to make the deal work.

Is D'Angelo Russell New York's Target At No. 4?

Ohio State point guard D’Angelo Russell is one of the three prospects the New York Knicks are reportedly targeting with the #4 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. However, one of the biggest questions has been his ability to play in the Triangle offense, but Russell insists that won't be a problem:

“Now that I look at it, Kobe had great success in it. The shots that he took, the shots that he made were in the same areas, all from the offense. So I think I can definitely thrive there,” Russell said during a phone interview, via ESPN.com.

Russell may be selected by Philadelphia with the third pick, but he’s comfortable with the scene in New York if he is selected by New York.

“It was great, just to be in the mecca,” Russell said of a recent Knicks workout in the city. “It was my second workout. Just being in New York was a great feeling and getting the opportunity to work out for one of most well-known teams in the NBA was just a blessing.

“They did a great job of opening the doors for me and letting me ask anything I needed,” he added. “I asked them what’s one thing I can do to separate myself and they gave me some great knowledge on that. They’ve seen the greatest of the greats come through this league. So they know what it takes.”
