In a breaking item in Knicks rumors right before Thursday's NBA Draft, the New York Knicks are reportedly planning to retain shooting guard/small forward Iman Shumpert rather than utilize him as a trade chip.
According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the Knicks could very well change their minds - but it looks like Shumpert fits into their plans for the foreseeable future:
We'll see if Knicks stick to this but latest signals out of MSG suggest they intend to keep Iman Shumpert as opposed to dealing him for pick

Shumpert's name has been thrown around in several potential trade scenarios as potential collateral for a chance to move up into the middle or late first round of the draft.
However, his 6.7 points and 4.2 rebounds a game in 2013-14 and defensive prowess seem to have impressed Knicks president Phil Jackson enough to give him a chance to prove his worth next season.
