Fisher, who played last season for the Oklahoma City Thunder, will join Brooklyn's Jason Kidd on the list of point guards who made the leap directly from playing to coaching. Kidd had a rough start to the season, but rebounded on his way to a 44-38 record.
In a move that might ruffle some feathers at Madison Square Garden, Fisher will look to beef up his coaching staff with a number of former Lakers:
Fisher's staff is very likely to include Kurt Rambis. Others in mix: Rick Fox, Luke Walton, Bill Cartwright.
