The New York Knicks are entering yet another crucial offseason under Phil Jackson. They have gone four seasons without a playoff berth, and with the team trying to trade Carmelo Anthony, it appears that they are on the verge of a major rebuild. Either way, New York has cap space that will allow them to be a player in free agency - but they need to use it wisely. With many top players (like Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Gordon Hayward) not expected to consider the Knicks, here are three players New York should pursue this offseason:
SF Andre Iguodala
Iguodala will be in for a big pay day this offseason, and the Warriors may not be able to re-sign him. He'd be a perfect fit for the Knicks. Iguodala would step right in and be a leader with championship experience, and even though he's 33 years old, that works out well for New York. They could sign him to a short-term contract, allowing them to keep cap flexibility for future seasons as they focus on building their young core of players right now. Plus, he's one of the best sixth men in the league.
SF Danilo Gallinari
Why not bring a former Knick back to the Big Apple? If the Knicks do trade Anthony, Gallinari would be a cheaper starting option that can help shoulder some of the scoring load. Denver has expressed interest in re-signing him, but they're also getting younger and want to develop their young core. If New York wants to stay competitive during their rebuild, Gallinari makes a lot of sense.

PG Chris Paul
Paul is only interested in playing for a contender at this point in his career, but Knicks may be the exception. He's largely expected to re-sign with the Clippers, but a few factors could send him elsewhere.
Paul may want to see what Blake Griffin decides to do before making his decision. If Griffin leaves in free agency, Los Angeles may consider blowing it up - and Paul may not be convinced he can win a title there without Griffin. If that's the case, his relationship with Carmelo Anthony could put them in the mix (assuming New York doesn't trade Melo to the Clippers). It's a real long shot for the Knicks, but it's worth that shot. He's also serve as a great mentor for Frank Ntilikina, who can play either guard position.
