ORLANDO, Fla. — A month before the NFL draft, Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan feels good about where the team is positioned.
Maccagnan said Monday at the NFL owners’ meetings that the trade with the Colts for the No. 3 overall pick came after months of considering their options to land a franchise quarterback. Most of those scenarios came back to moving up from No. 6.
“I thought as we went through the process, sort of feeling out different scenarios with different teams, we felt good about the trade scenario,” Maccagnan said. “We acted a little earlier on it than some teams did.
