Why Juston Burris didn't let demotion demoralize him | Jets Q&A

FLORHAM PARK -- Juston Burris, a fourth-round draft pick last year, began this season as the Jets' No. 3 cornerback. He would slide into Buster Skrine's outside corner spot in the nickel package (which the Jets use often), while Skrine moved into the slot.

But after Burris struggled mightily in the first two games -- particularly with open-field tackling -- he was demoted. Darryl Roberts became the Jets' No. 3 corner, a role he continues to hold. And Burris had to settle for playing primarily on special teams.

Burris played better in the Jets' last game, a win over the Bills, when pressed into duty because of a foot injury to starting corner Morris Claiborne.
