For the Jets’ starters, the regular season has arrived after a rocky summer.
With the third preseason game in the books, the Jets top players now can start preparing for the Browns in Week 1 while the backups play the final preseason game Thursday night against the Eagles. Jets coach Todd Bowles did not rule out playing the starters in that game, but it is unlikely.
Instead, the Jets’ starting offense and defense move out of the preseason mentality and into the regular season. The Browns come to MetLife Stadium on Sept. 13, so the Jets have less than two weeks to get ready for Mike Pettine’s crew.
