Why Jets' Morris Claiborne is betting on himself 'dominating' receivers in 2018

When in-house free agent cornerback Morris Claiborne talked contract details with the Jets earlier this offseason, the possibility of a multi-year deal came up.

But Claiborne wasn't comfortable with how the money was spread. So he opted for a one-year, $7 million contract that is essentially fully guaranteed ($6.85 million of it).

Claiborne decided, in the end, to bet on himself in 2018.

"I'd rather bet on myself than anything," he told NJ Advance Media. "I feel good about it. I've just got to go out and play how I see it in my mind right now -- me dominating.
